LOOK WITHIN AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

While growing up as a kid, My Daddy & Mama taught me that I am responsible for my own actions. “This is my doings, I am responsible”. Now I understand better.

Every action taken has an equal and opposite reaction. Your thoughts and actions are the seeds you sow, which you have to reap at some time or the other.  You cannot look at a mango fruit and ask where it came from.  Surely, one must have sown the seeds now growing in the garden of their life at some point. Galatians 6:7 - "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows". Proverbs 9:12 - "If you are wise, you will be wise for yourself: but if you scoff, you alone will bear it".

Take a very good look at yourself and pay a great attention to your life, you will realise that nothing is happening to you accidentally in life.  Everything is being arranged and orchestrated by you, and by your sub-conscious meticulously.  Yes, you might find it difficult to believe at first and questions like ‘Why would I ever bring a loss to myself in anyway’ or, ‘Why would I get into an accident’ should ring in your mind.  But as difficult as this nugget of truth may be hard to digest, it really is something you have brought unto yourself.

Put it like 'I am the reason for everything that is happening or not happening in my life', but there is really no point in getting upset when things are not going the way you expected them to.
There is nothing happening to you that God is not aware of, he is only concerned about what is happening in you. And the sooner you understand this the quicker you will be able to take charge of your life and the happier you will become. Put yourself in order and seek for for God's divine guidance and directions.

It’s a simple truth that all human beings (young and old alike) make mistakes and poor choices. The same goes for when you fail to act when you know you should. There are times when you just decide to look the other way when you know the right thing to do is to take helpful and wise actions. You begin to feel like - you’re not the first person (nor will you be the the last) who has fallen short in the personal behavior department from time to time. Tell me how God will take you serious when you are not ready to put yourself in order!

Well, Failing to accept your actions and taking responsibility may work to your advantage on occasion or in the short term. For example, you might get away with keeping your mouth shut about something that you’ve done, or even blaming someone else for your misdeeds. You might not face consequences for your wrong actions...at the time. However – make no mistake about this – eventually this poor choice will catch up with you and, it’ll typically cause more pain for you down the road than if you’d stepped up to the situation, took responsibility for it and honestly said, “I did it” and make amends.

This shouldn't sound like an exaggeration, the truth is, taking responsibility for your own actions makes life work better. It might not be the only the right thing to do, but it’ll pay more long-term dividends than you can imagine. On the other hand, failing to accept responsibility has severe consequences. It has a devastating effect on your own mind and heart. When you know you have failed to take responsibility for something that you should, it’ll begin to bother you, to eat at you, little by little. Pretty soon, you’ll feel very small inside.

Finally, in the words of Eleanor Roosevelt; In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.

Nobody can make you think, feel, say or do anything. Nobody can push your buttons, because you are the button maker! You are in control of your mind. Start taking responsibility for your actions and make amends where necessary. But remember in all your ways, acknowledge God, lean not only on your own understanding, seek for His directions, and he will direct your path.
